Tanner can make a difference

Tanner was selected as one of three 6th graders to read his essay titled "I Can Make a Difference" at the 6th grade graduation. Here is his essay:

"Even though I am just a sixth grader, I can still make a difference. Either when I grow up, or now, I can still make a difference. Think of our Founding Fathers, for example. They have created America for us.
Like Thomas Edison, I could be an inventor. I could make works of art or make robots. I could make a waste-extinguisher, something for every garbage dump to have.
I could start a clean-up comittee in a city to keep the city "Clean and Green" and so people could visit the parks more often. If there was garbage everywhere, animals could choke. I could put recycle bins around the city.
When I grow up, I could be a teacher and teach the kids what they need to know. I could teach a math class or a seminary class. I could take time to explain, assure, care, help encourage and reward.
Anyone can make a difference. We can even combine projects; like a robot that can clean up gargbage. We could even be a clean-up committee teacher! Alone, we can change a city. Together, we can change the world."
